Jessica Smeltink

Jessica is a full member of the Australian Clinical Psychologist Association (ACPA). Jessica is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and endorsed as a provider of clinical psychology services under Medicare.

Jessica’s approaches to psychology are based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), family therapy, and mindfulness based interventions. Jessica works with children and adults and her professional interests are primarily in the domain of trauma, specifically working with the ADF community and mental health issues related to PTSD; and relationships, helping families to better communicate, love, nurture and engage, and assisting parents in navigating the developmental phases of their children.

Jessica is a clinical psychologist and a multiple birth parent who can assist people looking for support in navigating the challenges of multiple birth parenting from pregnancy, birthing and beyond. She has strong research interests in attachment based parenting, having completed training in 'Circles of Security' and Gottman's Inc 'Bringing Baby Home'.

One of the most important elements of Jessica’s practice as a psychologist is to create a therapeutic relationship based on authenticity and positive regard for her clients. Jessica is also committed to advancing her clinical knowledge through ongoing professional education and training to maintain endorsement as a clinical psychologist.
